Textile and garment design as a commentary on private desires and modes of consuming online content

Nov-Dec 2018

This wearable print examines expressions of sexual identity and intimacy in online pornography; questioning the discourse surrounding desire and digital consumption.

A reconciliation between pornography and craft, it creates a kind of visual foreplay; a wearable garment with a cryptic print based upon pornographic imagery, becomes a form of self discovery that abstracts and makes tactile our personal definitions of intimacy and desire.

We find ourselves in a state where we simultaneously consume and are consumed; we alter the relationship between the public everyday and the hidden everyday.
